Queens, NY

This series is an ode to growing up in Queens, NY and revisits those memories of being young and untethered.

As a kid I had all the freedom in the world and I felt like I could go anywhere, but most days, I had nowhere to be. I spent a lot of time in in-between spaces: waiting for the Q17, wandering unfamiliar neighborhoods, watching my friends play handball but never joining in, hanging out at QCM but never buying anything (maybe an Auntie Ann’s pretzel), and lingering on stranger’s porches just to avoid going home too soon.
